Caring

The Caring Committee’s goal is to reach out to our congregants in simchas and in time of need. Names of people to reach out to are gathered from the Temple secretary or the Rabbi. Cards and notes are usually sent, phone calls and visits can me made and if need be, meals arranged for short term needs. We would encourage congregants who have a need or know of someone in the congregation that has a need to contact the Temple.

Co Chairs: Linda Stern and Noreen Simon

UMass Medical School Adolescent Inpatient Continuing Care Program Seeks Adult Mentors
. . . to commit to
    • Regular visits
    • Weekly telephone calls
    • Remembering the mentee at his/her birthday and holidays
    • Sharing a hobby
    • Offering encouragement
Research has shown that, in addition to the treatment the program provides, having a significant, trusted adult in the lives of these young people, ages 13-19 years, can be the most meaningful and effective factor to success in their recovery from emotional disorders, with most having suffered some type of trauma.
