Committees, Chairpersons & Purposes

Beautification – Renee Malowitz
To enhance the aesthetic quality of life at Temple Sinai, including art works & gardens as well as creating arts programming for the congregation

Board Development – (steering committee during this year of negotiations with Temple Emanuel)

To strengthen the board and its various committees as a unified, focused, cooperative, devoted, & knowledgeable leadership cadre

Capital Resources – Jonah Cuker & David Persky
To secure, maintain, and enhance the integrity of all capital assets, including buildings, real estate, and endowment

Caring – Noreen Simon & Linda Stern
To provide emotional & spiritual support to members at life cycle moments, e.g., birth, death, graduation, divorce, separation, illness, loss of income, bar/t-mitzvah, moving, retirement

Education: Adult – Sandy Sotak
To enhance Jewish knowledge and practice of post-high school population through formal and informal programming  (Life-long Learning)

Education: Child & Family – Susan Mack
To enhance participation in and curricular enrichment of religious education, formal and informal, of students K-12 and their parents

Executive – Gary Englander
To serve as an informal counsel to the president and Board of Trustees
To screen business and clear data, including contractual relationships
To act an an interim authority for the working committees
To provide research and recommendations to the Board

Finance – Marcy Ostrow & David Persky
To plan & develop strategies for the financial health of the congregation
active advisor

Justice – (joint with Temple Emanuel)
To promote deeds of loving-kindness and social change within the greater community, especially among the disadvantaged or disenfranchised

Membership – Esta Singer & Heather Gelardi
To recruit, welcome, and maintain members, new and current

Pot-Luck and Gatherings – Cindy Graber
To enhance the social life of the congregation

Publicity – Bobbie Chase
To publicize & market the congregation and its programs to the broader community

Worship – Sandy Sotak & Susan Hildum
To advise and support the clergy with respect to liturgical and life cycle practices, including music

Officers, Trustees, and Chairpersons may be contacted through the Temple office. The Trustees meet the second Monday of each month at 7:30 PM in the Social Hall. The meetings are open to all Temple Sinai members as observers. Matters may be placed on the agenda through the President.
