STAR
Power!
You
are not imagining it if think you feel the ground vibrating when you come
near
Temple
Sinai
these days. Our synagogue’s rejuvenation process is already well under way,
with new levels of initiatives, ideas and involvement that all promise to make
Temple
Sinai
an exciting and spiritually energetic center of our Jewish lives.
Among
the most exciting of these is the news that
Temple
Sinai
has become a STAR Synagogue. STAR, an acronym for Synagogue Transformation
and Renewal, is one of North America’s groundbreaking organizations
supporting congregations with Shabbat-centered programming that inspire more
participation in Shabbat activities. STAR’s Synaplex™ (much like the Cineplex,
a movie theatre with lots of choices) is a community-building initiative that
encourages contemporary Jewish individuals and families to celebrate Jewish life
through prayer, study and social and cultural programs all taking place
throughout Shabbat in the synagogue. Synaplex™ congregations are known for
innovative programs that deepen the participation of members and attract the
unaffiliated, and that sentiment dovetails exactly with where
Temple
Sinai
is going!

Your involvement in this and other
Temple
Sinai
activities is always wanted, so talk to any board member or Rabbi
Bernstein to discuss how you want to be involved. Stay tuned for more
information as events continue to unfold!
